Sunday 21st June Moses Speaks to the people

Exodus 19:2-8 New International Version (NIV)

After they set out from Rephidim, they entered the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain. Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:  ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.  Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,  you [a] will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak.  The people all responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” So Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.

With the lockdown starting to come to an end, life will not be how it was on 22nd March 2020, we are looking at new ways of doing things.

Shopping, going out, visiting friends, having our hair cut we have learned new phrases like social distancing, hand sanitising, 2m rule.  Social Bubbles and so much more. However, we have an unchanging God, who’s love for each of us hasn’t changed. Moses had been chosen to lead the people from Egypt and into the wilderness to prepare them ready to receive the promise of the new land.

As we start to be allowed back out again into a world where many have not been out other than for exercise and shopping things will be different. Some of us have been at work and have experienced the changes. With change comes new opportunities. Many have made new friends by phone or social media.  With weekly contacts and updates.

With change comes new opportunities. Many have made new friends by phone or social media.  With weekly contacts and updates. Watching worship on TV, YouTube and Facebook and in other ways.

Random acts of kindness. As we start to look at our worship over the coming weeks and consider how we can meet again safely in our churches.  We will be like the early people of Israel who had faith in God and the promises of God that he would look after them in their new life. So, we will need to rely on Jesus promises as we go in a new direction and do things differently.

Let us seeks Gods direction in all we do as we start to look at meeting again.

Jesus Promised

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

There Is A Day

We will meet Him in the air
And then we will be like Him
For we will see Him as He is
Oh yeah
Then all hurt and pain will cease
And we’ll be with Him forever
And in His glory we will live
Oh yeah oh yeah

Verse 1

There is a day
That all creation’s waiting for
A day of freedom
And liberation for the earth
And on that day
The Lord will come to meet His bride
And when we see Him
In an instant we’ll be changed
